How We Rate: Our Scoring System Explained

Our Rating Philosophy

Every site on PayPalPorn.com is evaluated using our proprietary rating system — a transparent 100-point system designed specifically for PayPal-accepting adult sites. Unlike generic review sites, our rating is weighted toward what matters most: payment safety and billing transparency.

We combine three data sources for each rating: our own hands-on testing (our rating), the FapIndex editorial rating, and the average score from independent review sites.

Our Rating: 4 Components

The rating (0–100) is built from four weighted components, plus modifiers for exceptional features or notable drawbacks.

1. Payment Trust (0–35 points)

The largest component — because safe payment is what our readers care about most.

• Billing processor (0–8 pts) — Is the payment handled by a known, reputable processor like Epoch, CCBill, or Crownbill? Transparent billing means you know exactly who charges your PayPal.
• No hidden upsells (0–7 pts) — Are there pre-checked cross-sell offers at checkout? Sites that sneak extra charges into the checkout process lose all 7 points.
• Price transparency (0–5 pts) — Are all plan prices clearly listed before checkout? No surprises, no bait-and-switch.
• Payment methods (0–5 pts) — More payment options (PayPal, credit card, crypto, gift cards) means more flexibility and a sign of a mature billing setup.

2. Content Value (0–30 points)

What you actually get for your money.

• Video library (0–10 pts) — Total number of scenes. 5,000+ videos = maximum points.
• Video quality (0–8 pts) — Maximum resolution available. 4K Ultra HD earns full marks; 720p HD is the minimum for a decent score.
• Downloads (0–5 pts) — Can you download videos for offline viewing? Full points for yes, zero for streaming-only.
• Update frequency (0–7 pts) — How often new content is added. Daily updates earn maximum points.

3. Price Value (0–20 points)

Is the membership worth the price?

• Monthly price (0–10 pts) — Lower monthly cost = higher rating. Under $10/mo earns maximum points.
• Lifetime plan (0–4 pts) — Sites offering a one-time lifetime payment get bonus points for cost-conscious buyers.
• Discounts/trials (0–3 pts) — Availability of trial periods or promotional discounts.
• Price-per-scene ratio (0–3 pts) — How much each video effectively costs. Mega-libraries with low monthly fees rate highest.

4. Brand & Size (0–15 points)

Reputation and scale as indicators of reliability.

• Network size (0–8 pts) — Multi-site networks that bundle 10+ sites offer better value and rate higher.
• Site age (0–4 pts) — Established sites (10+ years) have proven track records. Newer sites are riskier.
• Models index (0–3 pts) — A searchable model directory shows professional content organization.

Modifiers (+/– points)

Small adjustments for notable features or issues:

• VR content (+1) — Sites offering VR videos get a small bonus.
• Ads on site (–2) — Premium paid sites should not show ads. A penalty is applied if ads are present.
• No model bios (–1) — Missing performer biographies indicate less polished content presentation.

Alongside the Rating, we display two external reference points:

• FapIndex Rating — The editorial score from FapIndex.com, our sister site that evaluates adult sites across 7 weighted criteria (content volume, video quality, update frequency, value for money, brand popularity, features, and bonus content).
• Avg. Review Score — The mean score from independent review sites including RabbitsReviews, TheLordOfPorn, MyPornAdviser, and others. This gives you a consensus view beyond any single reviewer.

Our Testing Process

Every site on PayPalPorn.com is personally tested by our reviewer, Sterling Adler. The process includes:

1. Purchasing a real membership using PayPal
2. Verifying billing descriptor and payment flow
3. Testing content quality, download options, and streaming
4. Checking for hidden upsells, pre-checked offers, and cancellation process
5. Verifying the rating against external review sources

Ratings are updated when sites change their pricing, features, or payment options. The verified date on each review shows when it was last tested.
